Accessibility

ASAE is committed to providing an outstanding experience for all participants. We strive for full access to the activities of these events based on an awareness of participants’ needs and appropriate planning. Accessibility accommodations relating to mobility, hearing, vision, or other areas may be provided.

We ask that requests for reasonable accommodations be communicated via the registration process or by emailing accessibility@asaecenter.org after registration. Requests after this date and onsite requests will be accommodated to the best of our ability; however, available resources may be limited.

Food Restrictions and Allergies

We ensure that ASAE events offer vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free food options. Buffets will have menu labels items clearly indicating ingredients and/or accommodations. Please include your food restrictions and specific allergies on your registration form.

Hearing

ASAE strives to ensure that our platforms and providers are accessible. The Main Stage sessions will include live ASL Interpreters as well as Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) for our keynote sessions. All Learning Labs will have Wordly implemented where you can scan a QR code, select a language for captioning, and follow along in real time.

Lactation Areas

Private lactation areas are designated at Annual Meeting.

Mobility

Scooter Rental

ASAE partners with Scootaround. They have several options for rentals and offer delivery and pick-up service.

Places to Retreat: Serenity & Quiet Lounges

Step away from the busy conference atmosphere and retreat to the Serenity or Quiet Lounges. Nestled away from the main sessions, these two distinct rooms, The Serenity Lounge and Quiet Lounge embody ASAE’s commitment to Conscious Inclusion, ensuring a positive experience for all. Here, we celebrate neurodiversity, offering two options to get away during the annual meeting. The Serenity Lounge is a sensory-friendly environment where attendees can rejuvenate and replenish their energy. Discover solace amidst sensory tools and resources, allowing you to refresh your mind and enhance your conference journey. Quiet Lounge is a room designed to be free of smells, sounds or visual stimuli. Utilize this room for a complete retreat and enjoy the opportunity to sit in silence. Visit these lounges at the posted times throughout the conference.

Vision

ASAE strives to ensure that our platforms and providers are accessible. If you require additional reasonable accommodations or have questions regarding any of the elements listed above, please email the ASAE team at accessibility@asaecenter.org

Hidden Disabilities Awareness

ASAE partners with HD Sunflower USA Corp – a global network, to help increase education, awareness and support for people living with non-visible disabilities. Stop by the main registration desks onsite, if you would like to use a Hidden Disability Sunflower lanyard or wristband, to help encourage inclusivity, acceptance and understanding. This simple tool is for sharing that an individual may have a hidden disability voluntarily, or showing support to the cause. Learn more here

Additional Accommodations

If you require additional reasonable accommodation that is not already being provided or listed above, ASAE is pleased to provide such accommodation with written notice. Requests can be made by emailing the ASAE team at accessibility@asaecenter.org.
